April 06, 2016 Consumer Magazines

A new magazine for parents in the UAE was launched today by GN Publishing, the magazine division of Gulf News.

Baby&Child will be published quarterly covering topics ranging from pregnancy to pre-school, including parenting advice and real-life accounts of mums sharing their experiences of raising children abroad.

The magazine has a launch circulation of 15,000 copies, according to its advertising rate card, with sales through retail outlets for AED 20, as well as distribiution via online retailers Marhababy, Baby Souk, DB Babies and Mumzworld.

The brand also has an active monthly Mummy Morning events calendar, Facebook page, and will soon launch a website.

Katie Heskett, Publisher of GN Publishing’s Women’s Lifestyle Group, said: “With 80,000 babies born in the UAE every year, there is a lot of support needed for new parents, and we’re excited that Baby&Child will be able to be part of their journey as a family.”

The new magazine is headed editorially by Louisa Wilkins, who is also Editor of Aquarius magazine and its Aquarius Baby supplement.

“Since we launched the Aquarius Baby supplement in May 2014, our mums have been asking us for a magazine and website as they desperately want access to locally relevant parenting advice and real life stories and support from mums in the UAE,” she said.

“They loved how our Baby supplement was open, honest and supportive of new parents in the UAE and they wanted more of it… so here we are delivering their wishes!”
