The Daily Star newspaper closes in Lebanon

The Daily Star, the oldest English language newspaper in Lebanon, has closed down. The paper, which launched in 1952, has become the latest casualty of the economic downtown in the country. The print edition was suspended in February 2020 and the website stopped being updated last month.
