Arabic free-to-air TV channel Quest Arabiya has received a ‘Best in Class’ award for its website design at the Interactive Media Awards 2016.
The awards are presented by the Interactive Media Council, a US-based, non-profit organisation of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals.
Mahmoud Khalil, digital and social media manager at Quest Arabiya said: “We believe strong digital platforms are absolutely vital in the modern TV market therefore we are absolutely delighted to receive such a prestigious international award.
“Our digital platforms allow us to interact with our audience and they give us a better real-time understanding of what our viewers want to watch on the channel.”
Quest Arabiya, which broadcasts factual and reality-based programming 24-hrs a day, has also been nominated for the MENA Digital Awards 2016 being held in Dubai on 26 April.
“Since we launched in December 2015, we have been using the website and social media as a listening tool that connects us with our audience and helps us shape our programming grids based on the feedback we receive about different shows,” Khalil added.
The website includes a catch-up service with all programs available online for seven days after airing on TV, and enables viewers to watch a selection of programs on any laptop, tablet and mobile anywhere in the MENA region without having to download an app.
