A new quarterly men’s fashion magazine has been launched from Oman.
H Magazine aims to give voice to ‘a progressive generation of free-thinkers and creative spirits’, as well as promote top talent from the Arab world to international audiences.
The magazine was founded by Hassan Al-Saleh, former Editor-in-Chief of L’Officiel Hommes Middle East.
"There is a clear gap in the Middle East publishing industry for quality men's fashion magazines of international standards,” he said. “I want H Magazine to challenge the status quo and positively reflect a modern image of the Arab world through insightful content and inspiring editorials."
The magazine’s name can be interpreted to mean ‘homme’, ‘him’, ‘his’ or ‘huwa’ (in Arabic), and explores topics in menswear and fashion and their connections to culture, art, music, film, and architecture.
“When you look at the magazine, you will realise that it is boundary-pushing for the Middle East - the imagery is very international,” Al-Saleh said.
"The inaugural issue is a strong representation of what you can expect from H Magazine - from the interviews to the feature stories, to the art direction, to the styling, to the imagery. I want H Magazine to be more of a collectible, something to keep. You can go back to your library and be inspired.”
The bi-lingual magazine is published in English and Arabic, with 25,000 copies distributed quarterly across the Middle East and in key ‘opinion-forming’ cities around the world, including London, Paris, Milan, New York and Los Angeles, according to its media kit.
