Bahraini newspaper Gulf Daily News has launched a new ‘super flip’ digital edition incorporating dynamic multimedia elements.
The interactive e-paper introduces videos, animations and interactive graphics into the pages in a bid to redefine how both news and advertising are delivered and experienced.
Managing editor, Stanley Szecowka, said: “We are thrilled to introduce this innovative platform. It is not just a newspaper; it is an experience that ‘brings stories to life’. This launch is a testament to the Gulf Daily News and GDNonline’s commitment to innovation, ensuring that we remain the trusted and preferred source of news for Bahrain and the region.”
He described the initiative as the ‘first-of-its-kind in the region, and possibly the world’, which offers readers a unique blend of storytelling.
Ronnie Middleton, group managing director of publishers Al Hilal Group, added: “Bringing the morning ritual to life, our aim is to preserve the cherished tradition of reading a daily newspaper with your breakfast, while embracing the technological advancements that engage younger, digital-native audiences.”
