Four Communications is 'PR Agency of the Year'

Four Communications was named Agency of the Year at the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) Awards in Dubai last night.

The agency also picked up two Gold awards - for Best Live Event with the UAE Space Agency, and for Best Integrated Campaign with Tourism Ireland and Visit Britain - while Senior Account Manager Mohanned Lafi won Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year in the agency section of the Dave Robinson Award.

Memac Ogilvy’s Dubai team swept the board in the Consumer Goods category with its campaigns for American Express, Coca-Cola and Nissan winning Bronze, Silver and Gold respectively. Its Labels Are For Cans, Not People campaign for Coca-Cola also won Best Use of Social Media/Digital PR, and the agency's Lebanon office topped the Healthcare & Services category with its Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

Sconaid McGeachin, President & CEO for the Middle East, Africa & Turkey at Hill+Knowlton Strategies, picked up the prestigious Chairman’s Award in honour of her contribution to the PR profession in the Middle East, with H&K also winning two Golds for its work with Uber in the Business to Business and Corporate Reputation & Image categories, and a further Gold with Flash Entertainment in the Consumer Services category for YASALAM.

APCO Worldwide won Gold for Financial PR with Noor Bank, the Corporate Social Responsibility & Environmental PR category went to House of Comms for its JIM Will Fix It Nepal Relief campaign, GMASCO topped the Best Employee Engagement category with Driven By Smiles, and Impact Porter Novelli won the Best Use of Media Relations for White Friday - Souq.com.

Non-agency winners were the UAE Ministry of Energy in the Government Communications category and Yasser Mohammad of Ooredoo Kuwait, who was named Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year for the in-house section of the Dave Robinson Award.

The annual MEPRA awards, which celebrate creativity and innovation in the PR and communications industry, saw over 150 entries in 16 different categories from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates.
