A regional edition of UK-based Forever Sports magazine is due to be launched in the Gulf next year.
The monthly title targets men aged 23-40 with ‘high-octane’ sports and lifestyle content, interviews with global sports stars, and the latest in sporting trends and accessories.
Dubai-based White Fox Publishing has agreed a partnership with Awesome Media UK, part of The Awesome Group, to publish the Haymarket-owned title in the region.
Chris Haill, Group Sales & Marketing Director at White Fox & Managing Partner of Awesome Media UK, said: “The growing awareness of the global sporting environment within the GCC presents the perfect opportunity for an already established UK market leader to provide worldwide and local interviews and features, and of course plenty of interesting lifestyle coverage.”
The title is due to be launched in June 2016 with distribution in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and an initial circulation of 20,000 copies per month.
It follows the earlier announcement that White Fox will also be bringing Red Bull’s magazine The Red Bulletin to the UAE in April 2016 under another agreement with Awesome Media UK, who have the license deals with Red Bull Media House and Haymarket.
“The two magazines complement each other perfectly, and brands and advertisers will be able to exploit this across the different but complimentary editorials, formats and circulation areas," Mr Haill said. "There are currently only a couple of men's titles that have obtained circulation verification from BPA Worldwide, whereas The Red Bulletin and Forever Sports publications will be gaining an audited figure ASAP.”
The UK edition of Forever Sports was named ‘Launch of the Year’ at the British Society of Magazine Editors Awards in 2014 and was also named ‘Magazine of the Year’ at the National Federation of Retail Newsagents awards.
