With a quarter of young Arabs now getting their news from social media, we take a look at which UAE newspapers are making the most impact on twitter and Facebook.
According to the 2015 ASDA'A Burson-Marsteller Arab Youth Survey, television remains the most popular source of news for Arab youth (60%), online sources account for 40 per cent, and social media 25 per cent.
Arabic tabloid Emarat Al Youm is the clear leader on twitter with over 1 million followers, more than double its nearest rival, Al Ittihad.
English language titles lead on Facebook, accounting for four of the top five newspapers in terms of Likes. Gulf News leads the pack with Khaleej Times in second place, Al Bayan is third, followed by 7Days and Sport 360 in fourth and fifth places respectively.
