Veteran Egyptian journalist Emad Eldin Adeeb is to host a new talk show on Sky News Arabia, which aims to provide viewers with a greater understanding of the political world in the Middle East.
The Emad Eldin Adeeb show will air once a week featuring prominent personalities, politicians, and decision-makers.
Nadim Koteich, General Manager of Sky News Arabia, said: “Emad Eldin Adeeb has been a key figure in the Arab media world for half a century, and we are tremendously honoured to have him on board as a talk show host at Sky News Arabia.
“Through his new self-titled show, Emad Eldin Adeeb, he will give our viewers an in-depth understanding of regional political events and their future implications, contributing to our wider goal of enabling our viewers to make informed decisions.”
Adeeb is recognised as a pioneer of the interactive Arabic talk show format, having hosted the first in the early 1990s. Some of his notable past interviews were with former Egyptian presidents Anwar Al Sadat and Mohammed Hosni Mubarak, as well as the late, Nobel Prize-winning author Naguib Mahfouz, in addition to numerous prominent political, literary, and artistic figures.
“The Sky News Arabia team and I share a common vision that aims to deliver a unique and serious talk show that objectively addresses the realities of our age and its current news and events, which is why I am thrilled to announce my new programme,” he said.
“We will delve into political developments in detail and present their outcomes clearly to Arab viewers, enabling them to form a realistic and futuristic perspective about the situation in the region. Our approach is based on the principle that every issue is open for discussion and that every individual is accountable.”
The addition of Adeeb’s show is part of Sky News Arabia’s refreshed programme lineup which will roll out later this year, offering a broader range of political and non-political shows designed to better serve the channel’s growing audiences and their diverse interests.
