Dubai Tourism wins Latin American PR award

Dubai Tourism has won a prestigious PR award in South America for a campaign designed to position the emirate as a destination of choice for Brazilian holidaymakers.

The Brazil office of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) won Gold in the Travel and Leisure category of the inaugural SABRE Awards Latin America.

The campaign – entitled ‘Brazilian Bloggers’ - engaged the popular online reality fashion show #CamieVicTakeDubai which features two of Brazil’s most influential bloggers - Camila Coutinho and Victoria Ceridono.

Over four episodes, the bloggers visited Dubai at the beginning of 2015 to promote the Dubai Shopping Festival and film some of the city’s main tourist hotspots. Alongside the series, the campaign was supported by a series of blog posts, social media engagement, and coverage in top tier lifestyle magazines, resulting in widespread national coverage. 

The project also resulted in strong online engagement with the bloggers answering questions from their audience about Dubai’s culture and attractions. The episodes filmed in Dubai have garnered over 400,000 online views on YouTube to date.
