TV chef and cookbook author Ariana Bundy has been named ‘Best in the World’ in the TV Producer category at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
The Iranian-American picked up the award for her show Ariana’s Persian Kitchen, an eight-part food and travel series shot between Iran and Dubai.
In each of the 25-minute episodes Ariana re-discovers the land of her birth, unlocking the culinary secrets of Iran and its people, and recreating the recipes she picks up along the way to create exotic feasts.
The series, which is developed by Paisley Media, airs on Nat Geo People, FoxLife and FARSI1 across 98 countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
“We’re extremely grateful that our efforts have been rewarded, and that Iran and its cuisine has been recognised along with the UAE, where all the kitchen scenes were filmed in our own home in Dubai," Ariana said.
The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards were founded in 1995 by food expert Edouard Cointreau to honour the best cookbooks, as well as food television channels and programmes.
