Al Jazeera has launched a dedicated online viewing platform combining video on demand (VOD) and live streaming of its channels.
Al Jazeera 360, which is available online as well as via Apple and Android apps, includes new original productions produced exclusively for the platform, as well as a library of Al Jazeera productions dating back to its launch in 1996.
Programmes include cultural, entertainment, discussion and religious content, in addition to films, documentaries and investigative programmes with up to 50,000 hours of programmes and documentaries produced by Al Jazeera Arabic Channel, Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, AJ+ Arabic, Al Jazeera O2 platform, and the content of the Atheer podcast platform.
Dr. Mostefa Souag, Acting Director General of Al Jazeera Media Network, said the platform will focus on giving the public the freedom to choose the content they watch in the place and time convenient for them.
“The new platform carries the spirit of Al Jazeera, to which the Arabic-speaking viewers are accustomed,” he said. “Content with integrity, respect, and placing the human being at the heart of everything Al Jazeera offers.”
