Al Habtoor pulls the plug on Lebanon TV channel

Al Habtoor Group has cancelled plans to launch a television channel in Lebanon.
Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, founder and chairman of the Dubai-based company, said in a statement that the decision was the ‘direct consequence of severe security challenges faced by the project’.
He said alternative countries are being looked at to host the channel, which would broadcast cultural, social, and sporting programmes.
